Inspired by Semina, a free-form journal published sporadically by artist Wallace Berman and his circle in California in the 1950s and 1960s, each issue of Anne Colvin's Skank Bloc Bologna is a looseleaf collection of art and poetry based on free association between works from an international cast of artists, writers, and poets. Issue Number Two includes contributions from Dodie Bellamy, Bill Berkson, Anne Colvin, Eric Doeringer, Leo Estevez, Valery Grancher, Skylar Haskard, Colter Jacobson, Pat Lenz, Erlea Maneros, Bernadette Mayer, Tucker Nichols, Raqs Media Collective, Larry Rinder, Allen Ruppersberg, Margaret Tedesco and Ubuweb. This is a special “Langton” edition, as the contributing artists have either shown at New Langton Arts or have created a Langton-inspired piece especially for Skank.
“May Skank have the life that Semina did.”—Mark Beasley Curator and Producer, Creative Time, New York.
